WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Philanthropy Communications Manager plays an important role on the North Carolina Chapter’s Philanthropy team and is responsible for developing or supporting the creation of all writing and design projects that further donor engagement strategies. This is a part-time role (20 hours per week) that reports to the Associate Director of Donor Engagement and works in close collaboration with all members of the Philanthropy team, as well as Marketing/Communications and Conservation colleagues to ensure that NC Philanthropy materials are of the highest quality, well-written, and attractive and that the Philanthropy team is able to be nimble in meeting emerging needs.

The Philanthropy Communications Manager is responsible for the following bodies of work:

  • Designing all materials related to the NC Chapter’s Philanthropy program, including fundraising campaign collateral materials, event invitations, fact sheets, proposals and stewardship reports, templates and slides, printed cards/mailings, digital cards/collages, some video content, fundraising ads for Chapter’s newsletter, infographics, etc.
  • Drafting content for all written and presented materials related to the NC Chapter’s Philanthropy program, including renewal and thank you letter templates, donor profile newsletter articles, Legacy Club materials, talking points for events, proposals and reports, personalized correspondence for certain donors, etc.
  • Facilitating the alignment of messaging across teams and supporting operational management related to collaborative projects between Philanthropy and Marketing/Communications teams: emails to various donor groups, social media strategy and content related to Philanthropy, virtual donor programs and mailings, etc.
  • Interacting with donors to develop content that engages and inspires support such as photographing and interviewing donors for newsletters and social media posts, etc.
  • Some administrative duties and occasional assistance with events that could require working a few nights and/or weekends.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • ‘Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 2 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience organizing and coordinating projects.
  • Experience proofreading and editing business documents.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Solid knowledge of word processing and web platforms.
  • Experience with content management software.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong digital and graphic design skills.
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign or similar software.
  • Good video and photography techniques and skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

SALARY INFORMATION

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $36,285 – 38,568 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate’s location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
