Data Analytics Intern: TrackMan & Synergy Systems

TrackMan leverages industry leading 3D doppler radar technology to capture the most comprehensive and accurate ball-tracking data in the game. TrackMan data is used for player evaluation and development by all Major League teams in the US and the majority of teams in Japan and Korea, as well as top NCAA D1 programs. TrackMan is also used by MLB Advanced Media, as a ball-tracking component of the revolutionary Statcast system.

Synergy Sports provides premier video and analytics systems for MLB, International, College, and Amateur baseball and is capture live multi-angle video footage, track lineups and rosters, and upload video/data to the Synergy platform. This individual will be responsible for running the Synergy system for all home games.

NECBL teams, located in all six New England states, are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to operate the TrackMan radars and Synergy video and analytics systems. This individual will be responsible for running one (or both) TrackMan and Synergy system(s) for all team’s home games located at various ballparks throughout New England. The duties require this role to arrive at least one hour before the first pitch and continue to the final out and post-game. This position runs from May 25 – August 15th.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting up rosters and tagging information in TrackMan.
  • Log information for the entire game – monitoring the system and making any changes throughout the game (i.e. roster changes, defensive substitutions, etc.).
  • Assist in troubleshooting system issues with Trackman support, fixing any errors, and uploading the game to the TrackMan.
  • Maintain TrackMan equipment required for tagging
  • Support the TrackMan data operations teams in ad-hoc data requests and evaluations.
  • Manage video and technology equipment for game capture.
  • Serve as Synergy Sports liaison on site.
  • Track and update rosters and player information.
  • Verify data accuracy and video quality.
  • Provide daily updates to staff and content partners.

Qualifications:

  • Computer skills to operate the system and/or troubleshoot systemic issues
  • Ability to focus and avoid distractions during game
  • Knowledge of and interest in baseball operations, amateur scouting, or player development.
  • Proficiency with computers to operate the system and/or troubleshoot systemic issues.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • A firm understanding of baseball is required
  • Candidate must be able to attend all home games and able to work nights during the week and weekends associated with home games. (June 5 – August 12)
  • Basic database and/or analytics experience a plus
  • Ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs.

 ***Please note: If you receive any funding from any other Williams College Academic Department/Program or Administrative Office including grants/scholarships/ stipends/weekly pay in the summer of 2025 you are not eligible to receive an ASIP grant in the summer of 2025.
