Turning Points Network (TPN) Communications Intern, Claremont, New Hampshire
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Communications Intern to join our team. This intern will focus on developing and implementing outreach strategies aimed at engaging younger audiences, increasing awareness of TPN’s services, and promoting volunteer opportunities. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives that support survivors and foster a violence-free community.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation: Develop engaging content tailored for younger demographics across various platforms, including social media, blogs, and newsletters. This includes writing articles, creating graphics, and producing short videos that resonate with youth audiences.
Social Media Management: Assist in managing TPN’s social media accounts by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and analyzing metrics to inform future strategies. Propose innovative approaches to increase reach and interaction among younger users.
Event Support: Collaborate in planning and promoting events targeted at youth engagement, such as workshops, webinars, and community outreach programs. This involves coordinating logistics, creating promotional materials, and facilitating event activities.
Community Outreach: Engage with local schools, colleges, and youth organizations to build partnerships that amplify TPN’s mission and services. Represent TPN at community events and meetings to foster relationships and encourage youth involvement.
Volunteer Recruitment: Develop strategies to attract and retain young volunteers, including creating informative materials, conducting outreach campaigns, and assisting with orientation sessions.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms popular with younger audiences, including Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages that engage and inspire.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for social justice, community service, and advocacy work.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and a commitment to supporting survivors.
- Creative mindset with proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software.
